(She/Her/Hers)
RCC, RCAT-S
I am a Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT) and a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
With over 10 years of experience, I specialize in supporting children, youth, and adults who have been marginalized within society.
My practice focuses on working collaboratively with children and youth experiencing anxiety, depression, people pleasing, and risk taking behaviours that may affect their relationships, health and daily lives. I also have a dedicated focus on working with neurodivergent individuals, including autistic folk and ADHDers, to honour their individuality and support their growth in ways that align with their unique ways of thinking and being. I am particularly attuned to working with hard-to-spot, high-masking presentations of autism. Additionally, I work with adults seeking to explore and heal from relational dynamics shaped by their early caregiving experiences.
In addition to counselling, I offer supervision services for art therapists, providing guidance on case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, skill-building, and integrating creative interventions into therapy. My approach to supervision emphasizes fostering a ‘come as you are’ lens that supports therapists in developing their unique style of practice. My supervision is approved through the Canadian Art Therapy Association and can be used towards your registration hours.
I lead my work from a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming lens. As someone with lived experience of ADHD, I integrate a deep understanding of neurodiversity into my work. Additionally, I bring a strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, welfare and protection, gender-affirming care, creative-therapeutic environments, and the Canadian Justice System.
During my educational journey, I completed a Youth Probation Certificate, an Associate Degree in Pre-Social Work, a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies, a Post-Bachelor’s Diploma in Art Therapy, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Throughout the years, my work has led me to advocate for youth, gender equity, reconciliation, the housing crisis, and mental health. My front-line work transitioned smoothly into a therapy role and has allowed me to apply empathy and hold space for others who need it.
